madmedia is a San Antonio-based multimedia cultural arts collective that fosters youth productions, activism, sketch comedy, history, awareness, teatro, guerilla theatre, video production, music and movement.
This bilingual multi-media production explores the cross-cultural identity that exists on the US/Mexico border. Feel the wrath of the Xicano superhero El Xorro as he avenges those who eat bad Mexican food! See Maria la Roach Killer take on Roachie as he looks to save his familia de roaches. See Su de Su Show as she tries to get to the bottom of the Xicano/Hispanic/Latino/Mexican American complex!
madmedia at MACLA inaugurates our first in depth artist residency in the performance and literary arts. In addition to the public performance listed above, during their week in San Jose, MM artists are leading a workshop at Latino College Prep and doing a series of artistic interventions within the community. This residency is made possible in part by the support of the National Performance Network as well as the Stabilization Grants Program of the Arts Council Silicon Valley. We are very excited to support new work by emerging artists and create opportunities for artists to interact with ourlocal communities. Stay tuned for further details on MAD MEDIA's residency @ MACLA.
