Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy at MACLA

Video Production Class

MACLA/ Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana, the Black Eyed Peas Peapod Foundation and the Adobe Foundation to open the new Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy (PAYVA). PAVYA is a free arts education program in San Jose, California dedicated to mentoring the youth of Silicon Valley (from the age range 13-18) in professional multimedia production.

The mission of PAYVAM is to provide the next generation with a venue for the exploration of relevant social, personal and community issues. The highly selective year-round program focuses on a range of disciplines from professional video and music production, visual and cultural studies, interactive design, animation, photography, dance and web design. PAYVAM is a space where youths can use these technologies to cultivate a dialogue with the community and empower their own voices as a force of social change, community engagement and personal expression. After-school Workshops

Beginner: 4:30pm-5:30 pm Tuesday-Thursday

The Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy at MACLA is THE place for teens to learn how to utilize the hottest new digital technologies. From music video production, performance art to dance–no other program offers such a wide array of classes for students to explore their passionate interests. PAYVA stands apart from other digital media programs by offering a unique and multidisciplinary approach to teach teens the skills they need to face the difficult obstacles of today. PAYVA teens can explore artistic and technical aspects of media production, while gaining the practical work skills and experience for college and beyond. All classes are group and individual project-based, and taught by artists and industry experts in a state-of-of-the-art environment that give students a hands-on approach to multimedia production.

All are welcome to the Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy at MACLA to work on individual projects using  state-of-the-art facility designed after will.i.am’s personal studio. The facility features professional workstations for video and music production, a soundproof recording booth, computer lab equipped with the Adobe CS5 suite, high definition video theater and gallery for exhibiting work.
